A state preserve called Point Lobos, 10 minutes drive to the south from Carmel. Ragged, natural coast line remains. It's pretty cold there in the summer, as fogs are heavier then. On an overcast day like this, the temperature hovers around 50s (around 10-15 degrees Celsius). Same for Carmel/Monterey.
At a beach on 17-mile drive between Carmel and Monterey. Because tourists feed them, there are so many squirrels, many of them really fat. This one is begging for food.
Squirrel Movie (2.4M)
This is a really cute quicktime movie of another squirrel hoarding nuts under ground, after he had collected several in his mouth. Sometime one can store as many as a dozen peanuts in its tiny cheeks.
The same beach as the squirrel one. You can also see brown pelicans, sea lions, and sea otters there. Though the area (Carmel/Monterey/17-mile drive) is famous among tourists, it is still quite a wild-life sanctuary.
